Main Menu
The main menu is the primary way Web site visitors will navigate your site. It will likely contain links to your most important site pages and sections. To begin with, the main menu is empty except for a link to your home page.
Creating a Main Menu
- Sign in to your netAdventist site.
- Select the Dashboard link at the bottom of the home page.
- Click on the Website Pages tab.
- Select the Main Menu link from the left-hand menu.
- Click on the Add menu item button on the top, right side.
- Enter a name for the menu (i.e. the text you want displayed).
- If you are linking to an external Web page, check the Use Custom URL box and paste your URL there. If you are linking to a page within your own site, select the Page Type (i.e. Content Pages, News, Podcast, Photo album, etc.) in the first drop-down box. Once you select the page type you will be able to select the items within that content type to link to in the second drop-down box, Page Link. For example, if you select Content Pages as the page type it will generate a list of all your content pages in the page link box. Select the down arrow to view the list.
- Select Save. You should now see your new menu item in the main menu list.
- To move a menu to a new location within the list, drag and drop it into its new location in the list.
- To create a sub-menu, select the Sub-menu link and repeat the steps for adding a menu for sub-menus.
Note: Menus can also be created in widgets by selecting the Menu Widget. First add the menu widget, then select it to edit it. Add menus the same way you added the main menu items.
