Podcasts

Use the Podcasts extension to upload a series of audio or video files for your site visitors to view or listen to. It is ideal for broadcasting weekly sermons, discussions, or lectures. Our Podcast extension also includes a media player that plays audio and video podcasts on your site. In addition, you have the option of linking related material to your podcast, such as a Power Point or Excel file. netAdventist 3.0 will also automatically generate the URL subscription feed you will need to publish your podcast on iTunes.

Audio/Video Formats

netAdventist 3.0 accepts most audio and video formats for upload and download on most computers, however the internal player will only play .MP3, .MP4 (including h.264 codecs) and .FLV (Flash) file formats. There are many software programs out there that will create files in these formats. iTunes on Macs and PCs work nicely for converting into MP3 format. Nero (for PC users) can create .MP4 files. PC users can also use Media Coder (free).

It is important to enable streaming optimizations in whatever software you use to create MP4 files. If you do not do this, the file must download completely before it begins playing in the viewer's web browser.

Note: The netAdventist 3.0 system excepts most audio and video formats for upload and download from and to most computers, however the internal player will only play mp4 and flash(.flv) formats. netAdventist 3.0 suggests that you download a converter and convert your files to these formats. Mp4 files need to have H.264 encoding to work in netAdventist. If the H.264 encoding it not selected you will not see video when the file is played.
